Matt Moore posted his third consecutive quality start on Tuesday night, hurling seven strong innings while allowing just one run. Although Moore wasn’t credited with the win, the Tampa Bay Rays were able to come up with a victory, 4-2 over the Marlins. Tampa Bay won the first of a six-game home stand to improve to 76-81.

While it is easy to look at a particular player’s batting average and conclude that he is performing at a certain level, be that good or bad, only one statistic offers a valid measurement at this point in the season — strikeout percentage, or K%.
Spring Training Camp Update, Day One
54 of the 63 players on the Rays spring roster reported to camp in Port Charlotte on this, the first official day of Spring Training. Of those players, all of the pitchers who were expected report did with the exceptions of Ronald Beliasario and Alex Colome, who were delayed by visa issues.
