Rays Vs. Marlins 3/20/12, information on the “Below Average Rays Fan Meet-up”, and random other things

The Rays take on the Marlins today following Sundays abysmal pitching performance against the Red Sox, and yesterdays off-day. Wade Davis takes the bump in his continued fight for a spot in the starting rotation. To be fair to Davis though, with the exception of Shields, none of the starters have had consistently amazing or performances starts this spring…the operative word be “consistently.”

Don’t expect to see B.J. Upton, Reid Brignac, or Robinson Chirinos in todays lineup. Upton has been sidelined since his collision with Desmond Jennings last Wednesday. He said there was a “50-50” chance that he’d be playing in a minor league game today. Brignac received a cortisone shot in his right foot for an unspecified injury. Chirinos, who’s been out for more than a week after sustaining a concussion, mentioned that he was feeling better and would be tested both today and Friday. There is the possibility of resuming all things baseball by the weekend. The injury freak-fest continues.

After the cuts that Tampa Bay has made to the roster, and the announcement that the Rays will be starting more regulars from here on out, the Rays will try to end their sub-par play thus far.

3/20/12 Starting Lineup:

Jennings LF
Rhymes 2B
Joyce DH
Rodriguez SS
Lobaton C
Fuld CF
Johnson 3B
Mangini 1B
Feliciano RF
Davis P

As for the “Meet-up”

It looks as though the Rays vs. Phillies game on the 29th may be sold-out. I’ll continue to do some sleuthing into the matter. If anyone can find any information about this game, please get in touch either below (in the comments section) or via our email address. If we can’t meet up then, when would you all like to do a meet-up?
