The Rays placed RHP Alex Cobb on the 15-day DL with a left oblique strain. He was sent back to St. Peterburg for an MRI Sunday morning, so we should know more about the injury soon. Cobb is the second starter to go down in the last week, joining LHP Matt Moore. RHP Jeremy Hellickson is also on the DL, while RHP Alex Colome is suspended until late May for a failed drug test. Reliever Jeff Beliveau, who was briefly with the team during the Royals series last week, rejoined the team Sunday.

Matt Moore Injury Update – UCL Injury, Getting A Second Opinion
The Rays have yet to provide an update on LHP Matt Moore, who had an MRI exam this morning on his sore elbow. It would seem as though the plan is to put him on the disabled list. Adding credence to that idea, reliever Jeff Beliveau is on the way up from Durham to add arm an extra arm in the bullpen, also giving the Rays time to decide how to replace Moore in the rotation.
The Sun Came Out but the Bats Did Not, Roster Moves, Etc
Joe Maddon announced a few roster moves (official or otherwise) following Tuesday’s game, noting that Mark Lowe, Jayson Nix, and Wilson Betemit won’t be on opening day roster, though nothing has been etched in stone. Brandon Guyer has made the Opening Day roster though, which makes sense on a couple of different levels; he’s had a pretty good spring — especially in the field, and he’s out of options. I’ll post more roster moves as the chips fall into place.
Rays Take the Knutson Cup in 11-3 Throttling, Roster Moves, Etc
Prior to Tuesday night, Wil Myers has put together a fairly lackluster spring. He struck out six times while only accruing four hits. All that changed on this fateful eve however. Bumped up to the lead off spot, Myers led the Rays 20-hit offensive charge against the Twins, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs and an RBI. The Rays walked away from Hammond Stadium with the Knutson Cup for the second consecutive year following the 11-3 shellacking of Gardy’s crew.
