Tuesday night’s game was a somber affair to say the least. Most of you are well aware of the incident with JA Happ in the bottom of the second. Because of it, I don’t feel the need to attach a video of Desmond Jennings’ line drive comebacker, it’s readily available elsewhere. Nor do I feel the need to recount what happened, that too is readily available elsewhere. In the end, it’s not our intention to capitalize – in a manner of speaking – off the events from the night before.

I’m tired. I don’t feel like being smart, nor do I feel like breaking down the blown SEVEN RUN LEAD debacle that was Monday night’s Rays game. That said, I posted this invitation on our Tumblr page,
“Is there anyone who wants to write the game summary for us tonight? I’m in no mood, for obvious reasons. We’ll give you something fancy, like a handful if stickers.”
Rays 5/6/13 Starting Lineup, Etc
Jeremy Hellickson is seeking his second win of the year, as he and the Tampa Bay Rays start a four game set against Mark Buehrle and the Toronto Blue Jays Monday night at the Trop. Though Tampa Bay went 4-5 on their most recent road trip, there is a lot to be excited about following their 8-3 victory against the Colorado Rockies Sunday.
The New What Next: Rays vs Rockies, A Series Preview of Sorts
The Rays left one winter wonderland yesterday for another, landing in a cold Denver for a three game set against the Colorado Rockies. Some have espoused the thought that Thursday’s rain-out/snow-out may have been the best outcome for the Rays who struggled mightily in Kansas City. Look at the bright side: The game was postponed in the fourth inning, so nothing counted, including Tampa Bay’s one run deficit going into the Royals half of the inning.

Another night, another loss that didn’t need to be. The Rays pitching staff once more gave up an early lead, only to leave Tampa Bay on the wrong side of the win/loss column. This time it was Jeremy Hellickson’s turn to crap the proverbial bed, after the offense jumped out to an early 5-0 lead thanks in part to a pair of back-to-back Matt Joyce and Ben Zobrist solo shots in the first inning. The Rays have now fallen to 12-15 on the season, and seven games out of first place.
