On Wednesday afternoon the Rays announced a trade with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, of LHRP Cesar Ramos for RHP Mark Sappington.

In kind, in order to create space on the 40-man roster, the Rays have opted to have designate outfielder Jerry Sands and infielder Vince Belnome for assignment, according to a team press release.
