St. Pete City Council to Consider New Stadium Proposals

The St. Petersburg City Council is slated to discuss a pair of new stadium proposals up for consideration. Both proposals ― which have lovingly been referred to as the Gerdes plan and the Kennedy plan by Noah Pransky (Shadow of the Stadium) ― would allow the Rays to explore new stadium sites regionally, both in Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties.

Arizona Fall League Begins, Cubs Headed to the NLCS

The Mesa Solar Sox kicked off their 30 game Arizona Fall League schedule with an 8-7 loss to the Glendale Desert Dogs on Tuesday. Why is this important? The Solar Sox boast six Rays’ prospects: 1B/OF Jake Bauers; 1B Casey Gillaspie; SS Daniel Robertson (his second stint with the AFL); and RHP’s Buddy Borden, Mike Franco, and Brad Schreiber.

The Tampa Bay Rays rallied for a pair of two-out runs in the bottom of the ninth on Saturday, subsequently walking away with a 4-3 walkoff victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. It was just their third walkoff win of the year. At 79-82 on the season, and with a game left to play, the Rays look to end the 2015 campaign Sunday afternoon with 80 wins.
