— OF Oswaldo Arcia, who was designated for assignment last week by the Rays, has been claimed off waivers by the Miami Marlins. Arcia will replace Derek Dietrich as the new makeshift first baseman while he recovers from a knee injury.
Arcia was just activated from the DL after recuperating from an elbow injury. He was out of options, thus the designation which exposed him to another team’s claim.
