20110919-042805.jpgThe Rays didn’t need to do a damn think to make up even more ground in the wildcard race today. In an early afternoon game at Fenway, the Red Sox continued their downward spiral toward becoming the highest paid basement dwelling team since the Cubs. In a quickly paced 6-5 victory, the Orioles helped the Rays gain a half game on the Red Sox who now hold a very small 1.5 game lead in an increasingly compelling race toward the end. John Lackey starts the second game for the Sox tonight at 7:00.

To put things into perspective, if Wieter, Markakis, and the O’s were able beat David price in a 4-2 no decision last Tuesday, think about what they could do to Lackey and the Sox! Let’s hope the mouth breather performs to his (in)ability and again throws meatballs over the plate. If the Orioles win tonight, the Red Sox lead over the Rays will shrink to just a game. As always, Go Rays, by means of an Orioles win!

Update: Those jerkoff’s in Boston eaked out a minor victory at Fenway in game two. Just a question, humor me here. How can Lackey and company give up nine runs and still win 18-9? For the love of god, did Showalter just chug that whole bottle of wine that Madden left him between games to celebrate?
