The Tampa Bay Rays built an early three-run lead, and then somehow managed to scratch and claw their way to a 4-3 win over the Miami Marlins. Alex Colome capped the victory with a two scoreless inning save, allowing Tampa Bay to complete a 5-3 road trip, and snap a three-game skid.

The Rays and Marlins continue their four-game series on Wednesday at the Trop. Matt Andriese will get the start opposite of Justin Nicolino. Andriese (3-0, 2.11 ERA) is trying for a win in his fourth consecutive start for Tampa Bay, while Nicolino (2-2, 4.30 ERA) is winless in his last three outings, with a 5.63 ERA over that stretch. ― CF Kevin Kiermaier (broken left hand) had successful hand surgery on Tuesday in St. Petersburg performed by Dr. Doug Carlan. Kiermaier is expected to be sidelined 8-10 weeks.
― RHP Brad Boxberger (abductor) is slated for his fifth, and possibly final, rehab appearance on Wednesday, with Double-A Montgomery Biscuits. He is expected to rejoin the big league squad in a matter of days, barring a setback.
