The Rays offense (at home) has finally come alive over the course of the last two games. Last night the good guys scored five runs on 10 hits while leaving only three on base. Today they scored eight runs on 12 hits including seven doubles and a triple, finding the Rays one double shy of tying the team record of eight doubles in a game. And how about Johnny Damon driving home five RBI’s on his two run double and three run triple, including crossing the plate on that double? Sheesh! As my neighbor next to me at the game last night called him, Johnny Hall of Famon.

When all is said and done, the Rays had a very successful series against the Cardinals taking two out of three, and going three and three over the course of this homestand to get back to .500 at home with a 21-21 record.

Now the Rays are off to Minneapolis for a three game series against the Twinkies, who they’ve had some success against, followed by a four game series against the Evil Empire leading into the All Star break.

A more in depth dissection of this home stand is to come shortly, but at the moment, I have to go run off the massive burrito I ate for lunch.
